ICO Level Pack Coming to LittleBigPlanet!?

Yesterday in my LittleBigPlanet piece “The Game That Keeps On Giving,” I mentioned towards the end that I’d kill for an ICO and/or Shadow of the Colossus level pack. Well thankfully it looks like I won’t have to commit any murders to get it, as Kotaku has picked up a thread from fan site LittleBigPlanet Central containing an official teaser image of an Ico SackBoy leading a Yorda SackGirl through a sort of hand-drawn castle level.

Media Molecule has confirmed it’s veracity too, so this is a real screenshot. Whether it’s for a premium level pack like the Metal Gear Solid one or just a costume/creator pack, however, has yet to be announced.

Kotaku also speculates that this could have something to do with a tie-in announcement regarding Team ICO’s rumored “Project TRICO” E3 unveil, and I would have to agree. I have a feeling Sony’s E3 press conference is going to be something special this year…

According to this leaked trailer posted by PlayStation LifeStyle, Team ICO’s secret PS3 successor to ICO and Shadow of the Colossus — my two favorite games of all-time, in case I needed to remind you — has been unveiled as “Project TRICO,” and, if a real trailer, Sony’s big E3 press conference unveil has probably been spoiled in the process. Consider this rumor material until Sony verifies its authenticity, but come on, it has all the markings of a Team ICO game so I have to believe it’s legit. At least I’m hoping it’s legit because it looks downright awe-inspiring. Watch and prepare to be blown away!
