Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, officially announced today by Konami, is a remake of the original Silent Hill for PS2, PSP and Wii. Actually, it’s more of a re-imagining than a straight remake. The story is the same — you’ll play as Harry Mason exploring the snowy streets of Silent Hill in search of his daughter Cheryl — but the rest of the game is being overhauled to include a new cell phone interface, improved puzzles, a new soundtrack from series composer Akira Yamaoka, and a psych profile system that will adapt the experience to the choices you make throughout the story. And of course there will also be new waggle controls for the Wii version, including wielding the Wii Remote as a flashlight.
