Newcomer Hilde, online play, the Soul Gauge, finishing moves, character customization. These are the main new features coming to Soul Calibur IV. It’s all about the online play and character creator for me. Not quite sure I like the whole finishing move concept.

[E3 2008] Celebrate Soul Calibur IV Going Gold With Five New Gameplay Vids

Namco Bandai has announced from E3 this week that Soul Calibur IV has officially gone gold. That means in only two weeks time you’ll be able to take up arms in epic duels just like these.

Hot New Soul Calibur IV Game Footage

There’s been no shortage of of screenshots and artwork for Soul Calibur IV over the past year (seriously, look through our archives, it’s like post after post of galleries), but actual footage of the game played in real time has been pretty rare. Actually, I don’t think Namco Bandai has released any straight gameplay footage up to now other than brief glimpses in trailers. But that changes today. Five new gameplay clips just dropped into my hot little hands, and now I gladly pass them on to you. Enjoy!

Soul Calibur IV Star Wars Cross-promotion Expands

This whole Star Wars tie-in with Soul Calibur IV still baffles me to no end, but Namco Bandai is clearly having a ball with it, now announcing that yet another Star Wars character will be making a guest appearance. Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will now also provide Darth Vader’s Secret Apprentice, the star of the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed game, as a playable character. While I don’t see Vader and Yoda fitting in with the SC universe at all, this dude seems to mesh a little bit better I think. Still don’t quite get it though…

Soul Calibur IV Gallery: Yoshimitsu, Talim and Rock

Three more characters have been confirmed for a return in Soul Calibur IV, including Yoshimitsu, Talim and Rock. They all look great, except for Yoshimitsu. What’d you do to him Namco Bandai? His new design is awful…

Box Art Alert: Soul Calibur IV Premium Edition

You’ve seen the box art for the standard Soul Calibur IV, but now it’s time to get a peek at the uber $80 Premium Edition, which will include a metal collector’s case, a dual art/comic book serving as a prequel to the game, something called a “tournament kit,” and a voucher good towards unlocking exclusive bonus content. Very nice.
