Namco Bandai sent over a huge press kit full of screenshots and other assets from the company’s annual Global Gamers Day. The event was headlined by new game announcements, including GRID Autosport, Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2, Sword Art Online, Tales of Hearts R, and a free-to-play PC fighting game called Rise of Incarnates collaboratively designed by the teams behind Tekken, Soulcalibur, and Gundam Extreme VS. New screens are also in for games like Tales of Xillia 2, Lords of the Fallen, Enemy Front and plenty of anime-related goodness. Enjoy!

The respective guest stars from the original PS2 and Xbox versions of SoulCalibur II, Heihachi Mishima and Spawn, are returning to the weapon-based fighting arena in the game’s upcoming 10th anniversary HD refresh. Better than that, there are no longer any exclusivity deals preventing the two from finally squaring off. Both cameo fighters will appear together in the PSN and XBLA versions of the game!
Link’s still missing in action, and I wouldn’t hold my breath expecting him to join the cast if I were you. Unless of course Namco Bandai decides to put out a Wii U eShop version of the fighting game classic, but it doesn’t seem like that’s happening.

Returning to commemorate the game’s 10th anniversary, the legendary Soul Warriors of SoulCalibur II will be back in action in SoulCalibur II HD Online, unveiled today for digital download release this fall on PS3 and Xbox 360.
All of the 10-year-old fighting game’s original modes–Arcade, Survival, VS Battle, Time Attack, Survival, Team Battle, Practice and Weapon Master–will return, in addition to remastered HD graphics and brand new online modes. So, pretty much a straight port with a couple new bells and whistles.
Original PS2 guest fighter Heihachi appears in the game’s announcement trailer (scroll down, hit play), but Spawn from the Xbox version is nowhere to be seen. Obviously without a planned Wii U eShop release, Link won’t be making an appearance this time around.

Pulled in some nice swag this week with the arrivals of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Beaterator and Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny at VGB HQ. Ninja Gaiden came with the 80-page CE book containing a prologue comic, mini-strategy guide and art gallery — and FYI, there’s an animated version of the prologue comic that plays while the game installs on the PS3 hard drive. Got another art book with Soulcalibur, which has some phenomenal pics of all the fighters and a 25-track “Best of Soulcalibur” soundtrack CD tucked in the back fold. Then with Beaterator I got quite the fetching T-shirt, which I was delighted to see in a vibrant yellow as opposed to the standard issue black.
Full gallery of this week’s swag haul is after the break if you’d like to take a closer look.
