EA and Steven Spielberg are continuing their collaborative efforts with Boom Blox: Bash Party, a sequel to last year’s sleeper Wii puzzle game Boom Blox. Bash Party, which will be out in the spring in North America and Europe, promises to enhance the core Boom Blox experience with more of everything: 400+ new levels, expanded party play featuring twice as many multiplayer challenges and new team-based levels, new block types and shapes (including wacky new blox characters), new tools to make the block-launching gameplay even more fun including a cannon, paintball and slingshot, and an enhanced level editor accompanied by new online functionality enabling players to share their created puzzle stages with others. EA also plans to offer post-launch support with official level DLC of its own.

“BOOM BLOX Bash Party is a wild social gaming experience,” said Steven Spielberg. “We know families and friends really enjoyed playing the original BOOM BLOX together, so we designed more explosive multiplayer experiences with BOOM BLOX Bash Party.”

“In BOOM BLOX Bash Party we are taking the game elements to the extreme,” said Amir Rahimi, Senior Producer. “In the original BOOM BLOX, we really focused on perfecting the game’s physics so now we can push the boundaries of physics, offering exciting new challenges and completely new ways to play.”

Created mostly for the 8-12 year-old demographic (though adults are sure to enjoy it too), Boom Blox is an action, physics-based puzzle game packed with hours of excitement and creativity. “BOOM BLOX was designed to be interactive, pure escapism, and fun for kids of all ages,” said Steven Spielberg. “My hope is that it will be a great shared family experience.”

“As we developed BOOM BLOX, we realized that the possibilities with the puzzles were endless,” explains Louis Castle, Executive Producer. “We wanted to extend that element of wonder and discovery to players and even give them the chance to share those puzzles with their friends. We feel we’ve reached a new level of creative and immersive game play with the uniqueness of the Wii system and are looking forward to seeing what kids create.”
