For the upcoming PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita release of Super Time Force Ultra, Capybara Games has recruited a few exclusive PlayStation all-stars to join the huge cast of playable characters in the studio’s time travelling pixel art blast-em-up.
Joining previously revealed Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida, who will launch heart-shaped emoticons and tweet rockets at enemies from his weaponized smartphone, are the robed and scarfed traveler from Journey, and Sir Galahad, legendary Knight of the Round Table and hero of The Order: 1886, who comes packing a Luger sidearm and an arc rifle.
All three PlayStation guest characters will offer special Trophy challenges to shoot for on the way to a Platinum.
Capy hasn’t finalized a launch date for the PS4 and Vita versions of Super Time Force Ultra just yet, but has intimated that the game will be out “very soon.” Whenever it drops, it will support cross-buy.

PC gamers, the wait is almost over. Capy Games has confirmed that the PC version of Super Time Force, the time-traveling, Contra-esque 2D action game first released on Xbox 360 and Xbox One back in May, will hit Steam on August 25th. That’s less than a week away. STFU!
Super Time Force Ultra on PC will contain loads of bonus content sure to make Xbox gamers super-jealous, including “50 new Helladeck challenge levels, inter-dimensional Ultra Force powers and 3 super-awesome, super-secret new characters!”
Although they’re shaded out in the new trailer (see below), based on their silhouettes two of the three bonus characters appear to be Pyro and Saxton Hale from Team Fortress 2, while the third looks like it might be Zoey from Left 4 Dead. Which would make sense since those are Valve games.

Capybara Games’ hit Xbox 360 and Xbox One time-warping side-scrolling action platformer, Super Time Force, is officially on for a PC release via Steam later this summer. The Steam version’s been dubbed Super Time Force Ultra, indicating it will be more than a straight up port. Capy further teases that “some very cool (but presently very secret) stuff” is being added.
If you dig chiptunes, you’ll also be happy to know that the official Super Time Force soundtrack is out now, featuring 53 tracks and nearly two hours of retro tunage. The digital album sells for $7.99 on Bandcamp or $9.99 on iTunes. For true collectors and chiptune purists, a 12″ vinyl soundtrack is available for pre-order on Bandcamp for $19.99, with a ship date currently slated for August 31st.
