Former developers from EA and Ubisoft with credits to blockbuster franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Dead Space have banded together to form a new indie studio called Spearhead Games. In stark contrast to their previous M-rated works–and the imagery that may subsequently be conjured up by a title like Spearhead–the studio’s first game is a whimsical puzzler starring a team of super-powered critters.

Tiny Brains is an innovative co-op action puzzle game about four lab rodents who must work together to escape a mad scientist’s laboratory of deadly contraptions and experimental torture. Each ‘Tiny Brain’ has a unique power: Vortex can attract objects to it; Force can push objects; and Create and Teleport can do to objects exactly what their names suggest. Up to four players will be challenged to harness these individual powers and use them cooperatively to overcome the tricky puzzles blocking their furry scurry to freedom.

A digital download release is scheduled for PC and current-gen consoles this fall, with next-gen testing to begin later (presumably on PS4 and Xbox One). Specific console destinations have not yet been announced, but currently there are no plans for release on Nintendo Wii U or mobile platforms.
