Microsoft and Pizza Hut have joined forces to bring gamers closer to one of their favorite unhealthy snacks.

Starting now, Xbox Live users in the U.S. can download the Pizza Hut ‘Create Your Pizza’ app and place delivery orders straight from their Xbox 360, using Kinect hand gestures and voice commands or a regular controller. The app provides access to the complete Pizza Hut menu, so there’s always nummy-nummy wings or tasty pasta dishes if you aren’t in the mood for a pepperoni and cheese pie. I have no clue why anyone would ever want to, but orders can even be shared with friends via Facebook.

Here’s a guide on how the app works:

– Set up an account: download the Pizza Hut for Xbox 360 app via the apps hub on your Xbox 360 dashboard so you never miss a minute of the action and save your settings to order again and again.

– Browse full menu: cruise through the complete list of menu offerings to score delicious pizza, pasta and wings from your local Pizza Hut.

– Get local deals: geo-targeted offers pop up on the home screen for great deals on all your Pizza Hut favorites.

– Build custom pizzas: scroll through the app using your controller or your hands or voice (for Kinect users) to build a customized pizza built like a pro.

– Share with friends: post order screen features share order to Facebook functionality.

To celebrate the app launch, Pizza Hut is offering a 15% discount on all orders through May 6th. If Pizza Hut pizza was any good (sorry, it’s my least favorite of all the pizza chains) I’d give the app a taste. But hey, that’s just me. If Pizza Hut makes your taste buds scream “Mmmmm!”, hit up the Xbox Live Marketplace to take advantage of the discount while it lasts.

PC gamers already got their Devil May Cry 4 demo earlier today, now it’s time for some demo love for the console gaming crowd. Available starting today on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace is a playable demo of Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution, 2K and Firaxis Games’ civilization-building strategy game coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 on July 9th (it’s coming to the DS, too). The demo features both single-player and multiplayer modes playable as either Cleopatra of Egypt or Caesar of Rome, with a handy tutorial tossed in to show you the ropes.

Microsoft and Tecmo have announced plans for a PDLC campaign leading up to the retail release of Ninja Gaiden II on June 3rd, starting with today’s launch of new Gamerpics and Themes available now through the Xbox Live Marketplace. Gamerpic packs come with five images apiece for 100 Microsoft Points per pack, with hero and boss Theme packs priced at 150 MP each. Even more undisclosed PDLC will be coming on May 20th and in continued updates “throughout the summer,” so be sure to check the XBLM regularly from here on out.
