Been waiting to hear from PopCap about release plans for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare beyond PC and Xbox? Wait no more–the weird and wacky Frostbite 3-powered multiplayer shooter is officially coming to PlayStation Nation!
Today, Garden Warfare has been confirmed for an August 19th launch on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. On PS4 specifically, the game will run at native 1080p and 60 frames per second and support Vita remote play as well as Boss Mode and split-screen co-op. Additionally, the previously released free Garden Variety and Zomboss Down DLC packs will be integrated into both versions right out of the box.
For an extra special PlayStation touch, PopCap will be offering exclusive pre-order bonuses in the form of digital card packs and character customization hats including Sly Cooper’s iconic blue beret with pointy ears attached, a Fat Princess wig and crown, and Mickey Mouse style Ratchet (of Ratchet & Clank) ears. Check the gallery underneath the new reveal video for silly spoof posters introducing these PlayStation-themed hats.

At the moment, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is Xbox console exclusive, and it will remain that way until June 24th. On that day EA and PopCap will launch the game on PC.
The game that made third-person multiplayer shooters weird will go on sale on Origin and at retail for $29.99. Origin is also offering a pre-order deal for an exclusive Digital Deluxe edition which for a few seeds more — $34.99 — comes with 80,000 in-game coins and an exclusive customization pack featuring eight bonus accessories (one for each class), in addition to the two bonus Booster Packs that come with pre-orders for the standard edition.
Also note that the free downloadable content that has been released so far on Xbox One and Xbox 360, including the Garden Variety pack and the Zomboss Down pack, will come standard in the PC version.
Now, when can we get this game on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 already?

The game that made third-person multiplayer shooters weird just got even weirder.
Today, EA and PopCap have released the free Zomboss Down DLC pack for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. You heard me right–more free DLC!
The Zomboss Down add-on gives the game a Wild West theme in the form of a new map for the Gardens and Graveyards mode called Cactus Canyon, where Dr. Zomboss’s blimp has been shot down over the desert and the surviving zombie horde wanders onto a local golf course that is actually a secret base for an army of cacti.

But that’s not all, folks. The DLC also increases the level cap from 20 to 30 and adds eight new character types, including the likes of the Archeologist Zombie, the Wrestling Star Zombie, the Law Pea and the Sun Pharaoh. Over 200 customization items have been added as well, so now you can deck out your plants and zombies with new weapon upgrades, skins, tattoos, accessories, and more.
Did I mention that all this stuff is free?
