By now you’ve heard the official confirmation of the DualShock 3, as I reported on a few days ago. Since that initial post, two new hardware shots of the rumble-enhanced PS3 controller have come along, which I am now pleased to share with you. Doesn’t look any different from the original Sixaxis, eh? It sure will feel different though.

Heh… well, other than the DS3 designation, I’d imagine it wouldn’t look any different at all given that all they had to do was add motors to the casing. Still, I wonder if the older games will be compatible (because they were coded for rumble already, perhaps?) or will we see Greatest Hits versions that have ‘DUAL SHOCK 3 Enabled’ printed on the cases?
Yep, the “DualShock 3” label is the only thing new about the outside lol.
There’s a list of PS3 games that will be compatible with the rumble in my post on the original announcement. Many of the older games will have rumble added via software updates. Now, I have no clue what they’ll be doing about backwards compatibility with rumble on stuff like old PS2 games. Since they were already coded for rumble, hopefully it’ll just work.
