TGS 2007: DualShock 3 Confirmed!

DualShock 3

As soon as Sony and Immersion settled their patent disputes and made nice, it was only a matter of time before rumble technology made it into the PS3 Sixaxis. Well, after months of rumor and anticipation of something official since E3, Sony Computer Entertainment has confirmed the DualShock 3 once and for all! There’s really not a whole lot to say about it – the DualShock 3 looks identical to the original Sixaxis, only it now rumbles, weighs a bit more and has the label “DualShock 3” on it. The only sad thing is the new rumble-enabled Sixaxis is a ways off from release, at least in Europe and here in North America where it won’t release until spring 2008. Japanese PS3 owners get to enjoy it this November though, the lucky bastards! No pricing yet, but it will be sold as a standalone product.
