The Burning Crusade Delayed Into January 2007

BurningCrusade.jpgAs you’ve probably seen around the internet, there are many people currently participating in the closed beta of World of Warcraft‘s upcoming expansion The Burning Crusade. While Blizzard had been adamant that they would meet their targeted release of November of this year, players were beginning wonder if the title would be delayed due to the amount of alterations still being made to the beta, and the fact that Blizzard announced a delay for the European version.

This morning, Blizzard officially announced that The Burning Crusade won’t be making it to retail until sometime in January 2007. To quote the WoW forums:

“We appreciate the enthusiasm surrounding World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, and we’re excited about putting the finishing touches on all of the new content,” said Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We feel confident that the extra time spent polishing the game will result in the high-quality experience that our players expect and deserve.”

So there you have it. It looks like my plans of taking some time off of work and playing WoW in my pajamas this holiday season have fallen through.
