The Club Demo Shoots Up XBL, Gunning Down PSN Thursday

European and Australian gamers have been enjoying their trial run with Bizarre Creations’ run-and-gun shooter for a couple weeks already, but now it’s finally our turn. Today, Sega launched the North American playable demo for The Club on the Xbox Live Marketplace and will be bringing it to the PlayStation Network on January 24th as part of this week’s Thursday PlayStation Store update (which will now also include the DMC4 demo!).

What’s in the demo, you ask? At 1.36 GB, it’s packed with a solid offering of content to sample. You get to try one character (Renwick) in one environment (Prison Cells) with two different play modes (Sprint and Time Attack) and multiple difficulty settings. There’s also some multiplayer to try – two-player split-screen I believe – though I’ve only been able to play through a couple solo games of Sprint so far, so I’m not positive on that. As for the game itself, after a brief taste I must say it is shaping up to be every bit as cool as its premise suggests on paper. The Club could very well re-define the third-person shooter…

Watch for the full game to ship on February 19th for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
