2K Games has announced a staggered roll-out for its The Darkness II playable demo, for those out there itching to try their hand at the supernatural FPS action before the full game ships February 7th on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Xbox Live Gold Members across the globe get first dibs on sampling Jackie Estacado’s sequel performance, with the demo set to release Tuesday, January 17th. The following week, on Tuesday, January 24th, the demo will go live globally for all Xbox Live and Steam users as well as PSN users in North America. PSN releases for Europe and Asia/Pacific will follow the next day, Wednesday, January 25th.

2K’s announcement doesn’t state what content will be featured in the demo. But even if it’s only a level, it’ll sure be sweet to finally check out the new cel-shaded graphics and much-hyped quad-wielding mechanic.
