The Red Star iPhone Port Doesn’t Look So Hot

XS Games’ beat-’em-up shooter The Red Star, originally a PS2 game from a few years ago, is out now as a PSN download for PSP. I just downloaded it last night and have played five or six chapters, and so far it’s just as awesome as it was on PS2. An iPhone version is also coming to the Apple App Store “any day now,” and this new video shows that version in action.

I hate to judge from such a short clip, but from what I can see the iPhone version doesn’t look very good. The touch screen controls don’t appear to be precise enough for The Red Star‘s brand of gameplay, and the graphics look slow and grainy. Hopefully that’s just poor video quality, but unfortunately I don’t think it is…
