The White March Announced as Pillars of Eternity’s First Expansion

Pillars of Eternity, Obsidian Entertainment’s Kickstarter funded tribute to classic Infinity Engine CRPGs like Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale, is getting its first expansion.

Titled The White March: Part 1, the expansion will extend the storyline, raise the level cap, introduce new monk and rogue companions, add new multi-class abilities, and feature “a new party based AI system.” Details about what the new level cap will be or what the party AI system does exactly have not yet been explained.

The White March: Part 1 is vaguely announced as “coming soon.” There is an announcement trailer providing some insight into the narrative, but don’t expect to see any of what the actual game content looks like. We’ll bring that to you as soon as more information and footage is provided.

Pillars of Eternity is currently buried in my massive Steam backlog (which has grown even larger thanks to the summer sale). Guess I better bump it up my list right quick, huh?
