The Witness to Testify in January

After around half a dozen years in development, Jonathan Blow’s Myst-inspired, exploration-based puzzle adventure game The Witness has a release date. The creator of Braid will launch his next instant classic on January 26, 2016. Numerically, that’s 0126, 2016. So even the release date is a kind of puzzle.

The January launch will cover releases across PC and PlayStation 4. An iOS mobile port will follow “some months after that.” And then “a bit later” after that additional, unannounced platform versions will drop.

You better clear out your holiday backlog before The Witness arrives, because, according to a post from Blow on the PlayStation blog, the game will offer upwards of 80-100 hours for completionists. That’s insane!

A brand new trailer is embedded up top, accompanied by a handful of new, wallpaper-worthy screenshots below.
