So yeah, I’ve been completely consumed by Bloodborne over the past couple weeks. You’ve probably noticed by how unproductive I have been around here over that same period. It is so damn good, and so soul-devouringly addictive that I’ve barely been able to concentrate on other tasks without quickly wanting to jump back in for more pain, boss-battle triumph, and lore discovery.
Needless to say, I’m pretty stoked by today’s launch of Bloodborne apparel and collectibles over at the PlayStation Gear Store.
Yep, if you’re as hardcore in love with Bloodborne as I am, you’re probably itching to snatch up some collectible gear right about now. Sony’s got you covered with a line of t-shirts, a hoodie, a pint glass, a messenger bag for toting around all those blood vials and Molotov cocktails, an 18 x 24″ lithograph, and a 10″ polystone diorama of the hunter slashing a plague-infected mob. That sucker is priced at $220 and requires a $100 reservation deposit to secure one of only 1,000 pieces that will ship in September. Looks awesome, but that’s too rich for my blood.
The hoodie and most of the t-shirts are disappointingly bland ($60 for a black hoodie with a saw cleaver on the back? $20 for a black shirt that has nothing but the title “Bloodborne” printed across the front? No thanks!), but I am down for the box art t-shirt, and I like the idea of the saw cleaver t-shirt as hopefully a starting point for an ongoing series of shirts displaying other symbols and weapons. The collection also seriously needs some Plain Doll representation right quick.
As an art book connoisseur, the lithograph is pulling hard at my PayPal wallet. However, after recently buying the Bloodborne Project SkyLight PS4 faceplate, I don’t know if I can justify blowing $40 on another display piece. I’ll have to decide soon, though, as supply is limited to only 300 prints.
Any other Bloodborne hunters out there? See any gear you’re thinking about picking up?
