For the first time in print, the Max Payne 3 prequel comic trilogy — After the Fall, Hoboken Blues, and Fight and Flight — will be released later this year in a hardback collection titled Max Payne 3: The Complete Series.

Written by Rockstar’s Dan Houser and Remedy’s Sam Lake, the script and story writer for the original two Max Payne games, with artwork by Spanish comic artist Fernando Blanco, the Max Payne 3 comics explore “Max’s tormented past to bring his story full circle, completing the narrative thread that binds the events of Max Payne, Max Payne 2 and Max Payne 3 together: from his troubled childhood, to his successes as a young police cadet, to the brutal murder of his wife and child, to the death of his partner, to his ignominious dismissal from the NYPD, to the chance encounter in a Hoboken dive bar that propels him on an ill-fated journey to the streets of São Paulo.”

Titan Books plans to publish Max Payne 3: The Complete Series this October, with additional artwork not seen in the original digital comics. Speaking of those original digital comics, you can check them out online right now for free at www.rockstargames.com/maxpayne3/comics.
