Apparently, the story in BioWare’s upcoming RPG Dragon Age: Origins is so big it needs a novel tie-in to set the stage. On March 3rd, Tor Books will release Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne, a prequel paperback novel introducing gamers to the Dragon Age universe before the game ships later this year (PC version unofficially dated March 23rd, console versions unofficially due out in November). Spanning 400 pages, The Stolen Throne will follow the story of Maric, the son of a murdered rebel queen venturing out on a quest for revenge against all those involved in his mother’s slaying. BioWare’s own Senior Writer, David Gaider penned the story, so you can trust it’ll be true to the game world.

Again, Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne will be released on March 3rd and is expected to retail for $15. Learn more about the novel’s story and even read the full first chapter at the Dragon Age website.
