In honor of Barry Bonds’ chase to break Hank Aaron’s legendary all-time home run record of 755, Netamin’s massively multiplayer online baseball game Ultimate Baseball Online 2007 will be hosting a special in-game Home Run Record Breaker Contest. As soon as Bonds crushes number 756 out of the park (who knows when that’ll be the way he’s swinging right now), the contest will begin, with the player that hits the 757th total home run in UBO pickup games (not sure why the contest is for 757…) taking home a baseball memorabilia grand prize package containing a Barry Bonds rookie baseball card, a Hank Aaron baseball card, and a UBO T-shirt and cap. Various prizes will also be awarded to players who hit other benchmark home runs leading up to number 757 (100, 200, 300, etc.).
UBO is a free to download and play game, so the contest is open to anyone with a computer, broadband connection and a desire to flex some virtual baseball slugging muscle. Visit www.ultimatebaseballonline.com for more details on the contest and how to join the UBO community. I have a UBO 2007 review in the works as well, so watch for that very soon.
