Kotaku had an interesting link up yesterday to a site that actually utilizes the Google Maps API to show where PS3 and Wii launches are taking place in your area. Additionally, PS3Seeker.com shows which retail outlets will be holding midnight launches and (for those with money to burn), local auctions currently running on Ebay.
All you need is to enter your postal code and the site will return a map and list of locations with their addresses, numbers, and anticipated inventory so you can plan your camping accordingly. Unfortunately the site also returns stores that have already taken pre-orders such as GameStop and EB Games, so obviously make your choice wisely.
Use this link for PS3Seeker’s Wii finder.
I couldn’t find the link for finding Wiis…
Added a link to it in the post.
The Wii tracker seems to be a bit more useful than the PS3 one. At least in my area, the PS3 tracker just shows a range (EB Games 5-25). Not sure that’s too helpful! It did say Best Buy would have between 30 and 60, which is many many more than I thought they would have.
