Gamescom week is a wrap, and you could argue it was actually a grander event than E3, at least in terms of big gaming news. It was a particularly significant week for Sony with the simultaneous unveiling of a new slimline PS3 and the announcing of a price drop to $300 — the “big three” consoles are now pretty much all on an even playing field in terms of price, so it’ll be very interesting to see how the retail wars turn out this holiday season.
