VGB Week in Review: 8/2/2010 – 8/8/2010

Not sure if it’s the hot summer weather or what, but I’ve been playing my PSP more than any other platform over the past few weeks. And this week I finished up three more PSP reviews for three under-appreciated titles: Patchwork Heroes, Eye of Judgment: Legends and Widgets Odyssey II. Still have a few other PSP titles to finish up as well — namely MGS: Peace Walker, P3P and Disgaea Infinite — but while I continue playing those my review attention will shift to some more console and DS stuff like Dragon Quest IX, Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow, Singularity, Alan Wake, Dead to Rights: Retribution, LEGO Harry Potter, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and so on.

This was also a big week for game patches, as both Backbreaker and ModNation Racers received significant, game-changing updates. I spent the weekend testing those out, and after a bit more play time I’ll report back with my post-patch impressions. I also finally earned my Platinum Trophy in Uncharted 2 over the weekend. Somehow my file went screwy and the trophy for finding 80 of the treasures didn’t register…even though I found all 101 and got the trophies for 90 and 100. So, I had to restart a new file and go treasure hunting all over again. I believe that makes five playthroughs now — and the game still never gets old!
