VGBlogger Game Reviewers Wanted

NowHiring.jpg

Are you passionate about gaming? Do you like to write? We have just the gig for you!

We are looking for U.S. based game reviewers to expand our small team here. We are looking for people who, above all else, love gaming, are open minded to games of all genres, and don’t get caught up in all the console wars fanboy nonsense and hipster snark that spreads throughout most gaming sites like a disease. Oh, and of course you have to be a talented writer, capable of explaining and critiquing games in a fair and thorough manner.

At this time we are looking for reviewers capable of playing and covering games across all platforms, from PC to consoles to handhelds. Reviewers with an Xbox One and Wii U are a primary need. Having a relatively modern PC to help cover the large volume of indie games is a top priority. We are open to specialists for each platform, but the ability to cover games across multiple platforms is a definite plus.

Additionally, we are looking for a reviewer to specialize exclusively in mobile games on iOS/Android. So if you’re tapped into the app scene and would like your chance to receive and review the latest releases, drop us a line.

These are NOT paid positions, but as a member of the VGBlogger staff you will have the opportunity to receive free reviewable game codes, review games from your own play time, express your gaming opinions on a daily basis, gain industry experience, and have all your work read by publishers, developers, and fellow gamers.

If you would like to apply for a position and find out more, please email me directly at matt[dot]litten[at]vgblogger[dot]com and include the following:

  • An introduction of yourself, your gaming and writing experience, and why you would like to be a game reviewer.

  • A list of the platforms you have available to review games on.

  • Two sample reviews to show us your writing skills. The reviews can be for any games of your choice — preferably something current, but whatever you may be playing at the moment is fine. If you have past experience writing for other publications, feel free to provide links to previous works for us to consider. But you still must submit two newly written samples.

  • That’s pretty much it. Get in touch if you’re interested in joining the VGBlogger team. Look forward to hearing from you soon!
