Volition Auctioning Off Saints Row 3 Voice Acting Role for Charity

How would you like to be a voice actor in Saints Row 3 and contribute to a good cause at the same time? Well, this is your chance!

Volition and THQ are auctioning off a voice acting gig for Saints Row 3 via eBay, with all proceeds to be donated to the Ashley Ames foundation. Ashley Ames, age 23, recently passed away from injuries suffered during a house fire in Urbana, Illinois. Volition HQ is located in the neighboring city of Champaign, Illinois, so this tragic story really hit home for the studio.

Currently, the auction value is up to $510.00 after six bids, with just under four days left to go. The highest bidder will be given the opportunity to voice a pedestrian walking the streets of Stilwater, surely to be abused by players across the globe. The game’s Senior Writer, Steve Jaros, says the role will allow for plenty of screaming, shooting and cursing, and he may even write specific lines into the game requested by the winner. The winner will have to provide his/her own transportation to Volition to do the recording, though. Unless the bidding gets high enough; then they’ll “see what can be worked out.”

So, it turns out that a violent, vulgar game like Saints Row can actually be a vehicle for good. Whodathunkit?
