Nintendo’s line of New Play Control! Wii-makes of old favorites from the GameCube library officially launches this week with the debuts of the waggle-infused re-releases of Pikmin and Mario Power Tennis. At $30 a pop, New Play Control! Pikmin and Mario Power Tennis feature the same core gameplay of the originals augmented with new motion control mechanics and 16:9 widescreen presentation. So in Pikmin you’re afforded more control over your 100 Pikmin with new point-and-click style controls, while in Mario Power Tennis you get to wield the Wii Remote like a real tennis racket to unleash wicked forehands and backhands on the opposition.
“On all of its platforms, Nintendo has consistently delivered irresistible games that fans can enjoy for years on end,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “With the New Play Control! series, we’re giving Wii users new ways to tap into some great titles using the latest and greatest controls.”
