Warhammer Offline: Mythic-Developed MMORPG Delayed to ’08

520538_20070330_screen019_1.jpgIt seems that it’s a week for MMO announcements.  Earlier this week, we reported about Bioware possibly working on a KOTOR MMO.  Well, it seems Bioware isn’t the only one in the spotlight, as EA Mythic has issued a press release stating they will be delaying the release of their highly-anticipated MMORPG Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning to the first quarter of 2008.  When asked about the delay, EA Mythic general manager Mark Jacobs had this to say:

“We have made the decision to move our ship date for the US and Europe to the first quarter of 2008. Since our acquisition by EA, we have been afforded many wonderful development opportunities and we plan to take full advantage of everything that is available. This includes taking several additional months to make the best MMORPG possible.

Meanwhile, Blizzard aren’t the only ones that are happy to hear that their competition won’t be coming as soon as expected (the original release date was set for this holiday season).  Despite the wait time, fans and potential customers are glad that EA Mythic is delaying the game, as they are sure the time will be used to help deliver a high-quality gaming experience.  As for us, we’re psyched for the release, and once we have more info, you can bet your bottom dollar we’ll fill you in.
