Watch 5 Minutes of The Amazing Spider-Man Web Slinging on PlayStation 4

Beenox has dropped a gameplay walkthrough video featuring all-new footage of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 running on PlayStation 4. Color me surprised, because it actually looks a lot more impressive than I expected from a movie game that is also being made for last generation hardware. I wouldn’t compare it too favorably to the gorgeous open world visuals of the PS4-exclusive Infamous: Second Son, but I see a clear upgrade from what the first game offered on PS3. Spidey also appears to have learned some new tricks from Batman as some of the new stealth takedown mechanics, the more open mission designs and the Detective Mode-style Spidey sense vision are very reminiscent of the Arkham games. Which is all good by me, especially since the web-swinging action that is distinctly Spider-Man remains in place.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be out April 29th on PS4, as well as PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
