Because not much happens in the gaming world during the weekend of Thanksgiving, I used the extra time to catch up on some gaming.
I still have Marvel: Ultimate Alliance out from GameFly and really dig that game. I’ve always been a fan of hack’n’slash dungeon crawls like Diablo and Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance. The story is actually good, and the only real problem I’ve had with the game is at points the audio will just cut out. For example at one point I was battling a frost giant and to do so your hero must shove a huge spear into the back of its neck. This resulted in an eerie silence instead of…oh I don’t know…anything really. Overall I’ve had a lot of fun with this game, which is probably why I’ve had it for almost four weeks now.
Of course, I spent some more time with Twilight Princess and even more time with Wii Sports as I’m sure you’re aware. I’m quite amazed at how often I’m sucked back into playing Wii Sports. When I first heard of this packaged Wii title, I thought that since it was free there wouldn’t really be that much to it. However, due to the fact that every action is controlled by how you use the remote, this is a title that I’ll probably still be playing towards the end of the console’s lifespan. Nintendo really got its point across on what it’s trying to do with the system by packing this game in with every Wii.
So with that, what did you play this weekend?
(P.S. I apologize for the slow response time for the site today. We’re currently weathering a Digg storm)
Well, I can’t say my gaming has changed much. Wii Sports (and my TV still isn’t broken, which leads me to believe that people are too retarded to hold onto their Wii-motes!!!)…WoW TCG…World of Warcraft on PC again, now that everyone I know is getting high level.
I’m really interested in checking out Marvel Ultimate Alliance on the Wii, because after playing Justice League Heroes, I need a GOOD game. I also really want Rapala Tournament Fishing to come out for it.
Other than that, I’m thinking I might finally rent Zelda tonight, but I’m not sure. I was never a huge fan of Ocarina of Time, but I loved Majora’s Mask and Wind Waker (don’t worry, I thought the first Zelda was alright and the second one was fantastic, I’m just odd like that).
And might I remind everyone to check out a little game called DEFCON!?
I hate my life. I did not get to play a single video game all weekend. What sort of self-respecting gamer am I?
I’ve been too busy studying for the LSAT, working, etc. I think I might make up for it by having a FFXII marathon tonight.
I’m so jealous of all of you with your Wiis!
