Wii Pre-Orders on Friday == FACT

Wii Pre-Order MemoGo Nintendo is now confirming that Wii pre-orders at GameStop and EB Games will start at opening of business Friday. Not only do they have confirmation from their local store, but they’ve also gotten their hands on an official memo which congratulates stores for adhering to the PS3 pre-order guidelines and also stresses the fact that stores are to open at normal times on Friday, instead of holding any midnight or early pre-order openings.

For more information on this you can view the source article here. Just to be on the safe side, I’d print this company email out before heading over to the store on Friday morning in case the all-knowing GameStop clerks give you any hassle.

GameSpot just posted the following clarification here on their website:

“GameStop and EB Games stores will begin accepting limited pre-orders for the Nintendo Wii console on Friday, October 13, on a first come, first served basis. Due to extremely limited supply, we expect to reach our limit very quickly, most likely in minutes. We will not accept additional pre-orders at that time. To avoid an unnecessary trip we strongly recommend you call your local store to determine availability. A $50 reservation deposit is required, which can be funded with cash, credit or trade. As we cannot control production and shipping issues by the manufacturer, a reservation deposit does not guarantee receipt of a system available to purchase at launch. Reservations/Purchases are limited to 1 per household.”
