World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Enters Closed Beta

The day World of Warcraft fanatics have been anxiously waiting days, weeks and months for has finally arrived, as the MMORPG’s third expansion pack, Cataclysm, has officially entered closed beta testing. Blizzard has begun the process of sending out beta invites, so if you opted in for the beta, you’ll want to check your account to see if you got in ASAP. And if you didn’t make it in this time, don’t fret — Blizzard will be issuing additional invites on a weekly basis moving forward.

We should be receiving an invite any time now, so hopefully we’ll be able to bring you some Cataclysm beta impressions soon.

“Our focus with Cataclysm has been to build on the knowledge we’ve gained through the previous expansions to deliver the best, most compelling World of Warcraft content for our players to date,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “Gathering focused feedback during the beta test will go a long way in helping us reach that goal when we launch Cataclysm later this year.”
