Coming up this Friday July 27th through Sunday July 29th, Auran will be holding a free worldwide preview event for its upcoming PvP MMO game Fury<\/em><\/a>, issuing up to 200,000 log-in accounts on a first come first served basis for a 60-hour beta trial. Current testers from the Closed Beta will be able to partake as well using their existing account. “After the fantastic press demos last week in LA, and the great feedback we\u2019ve seen from the closed beta testers, we believe it is now time to unleash Fury<\/em> upon the broader public,” said Harry Miller, Head of Development at Gamecock, the publisher of Fury<\/em> in North America. “We love indie developers because they innovate, and sometimes the best way for people to discover more about exciting new games is simply to let them experience it first-hand.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs our Fury<\/em> motto says, \u2018Waste enemies, not time\u2019,\u201d said Tony Hilliam, Auran CEO. \u201cWe had planned our first public event to be a little closer to release, but we\u2019ve come to realize that once people get two or three games of Fury<\/em> under their belt, they\u2019re hooked. So we thought, why not just let them get sucked straight into the action and see for themselves. Besides, we\u2019re risk takers. We took a big risk by setting out to make a game that throws away the MMO hand-book. We took all the rewards, loot and character advancement from the MMO genre and crammed them into an adrenaline filled, fast paced combat game. People hear the word MMO and say \u2018been there, done that\u2019. But they haven\u2019t played Fury<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis Beta Preview Event will allow new players to experience Fury<\/em>‘s unique combat and multiple game types as well as the challenge of mixing and matching more than 400 abilities to create their ‘perfect’ incarnation,\u201d said Adam Carpenter, Fury<\/em>\u2019s Lead Designer. \u201cIn addition, our existing beta players can see the progress we’ve made in the past weeks with improvements to matchmaking, player training and starter ability selections. And of course with all the extra players, there will be shorter wait times and evenly matched battles for everyone.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Along with news of the preview event, we have also received some new Fury<\/em> media to share with you, including what has to be one of the strangest game trailers I’ve ever seen entitled “Life is What Happens While You’re Level Grinding” and some new screenshots.<\/p>\n
