Assassin’s Creed III<\/em><\/a> is taking the series to a new historical setting — the American Revolution War — and introducing a new hero. The first official trailer and details have now been released confirming as much.<\/p>\nRatohnhak\u00e9:ton, now known as Connor, is the game’s protagonist, an assassin of Native American and English heritage, armed with a tomahawk and bow and arrows.<\/p>\n
Ubisoft calls this the largest project in the company’s history, revealing that Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with six other Ubisoft studios has been at work on the game for over three years now, crafting the new Ubisoft-AnvilNext game engine to finally bring the aging Assassin’s Creed<\/em> formula up to date with improved AI and graphics quality. Assassin’s Creed<\/em> has largely been the same experience for four games now (not including the portable titles), so the change in scenery and historical context should give the series the shot in the arm it’s been in desperate need of (if you ask me).<\/p>\nAssassin’s Creed III<\/em> is in development for PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U and will launch on October 30th.
