Suck it, Wolverine!

Marvel’s mouthiest anti-hero has finally landed the lead gig in his own video game. That’s right, nutso mercenary Deadpool will be starring in a self-titled action game developed by High Moon Studios and published by Activision, to be released in 2013 for currently undisclosed platforms (PS3 and Xbox 360 surely are a given, though, at the very least). From the trailer, it also sounds like Nolan North, the man of a thousand video game characters, is reprising his role as The Merc with a Mouth from Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

High Moon has maintained high quality on recent Transformers titles and I’ve enjoyed the studio’s previous works, which include The Bourne Conspiracy and Darkwatch, and Deadpool has always ranked high up on my list of favorite Marvel characters, so I’m thinking this one’s a safe bet to be an absolute blast. The humor and gameplay action shown in the debut trailer certainly bodes well.
