After early reports and leaks outed the game last week<\/a>, Ubisoft has officially unveiled the first story details, release plans, screenshots, and trailers for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Black Flag<\/em> sets sail on a journey back in time to the Golden Age of Pirates this October 29th first on PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360. The game is also in development for PC, PS4 and other next-gen hardware. Or in other words, whatever the next Xbox console is. As previously confirmed, the PS3 and PS4 versions will include 60 minutes of exclusive gameplay content via some form of free DLC after launch.<\/p>\n

The story takes place in the early 18th Century, an era known as the Golden Age of Pirates during which infamous pirate legends such as Blackbeard and Charles Vane sailed the West Indies. Former privateer for the Royal Navy, Edward Kenway has turned to the ways of the Pirate Assassin and joins in the ancient war against the Templars. <\/p>\n

The game’s Caribbean open-world environment will feature over 50 navigable locations, from Kingston to Nassau to the Bahamas, and combat and exploration will continue to build upon the “franchise\u2019s proven tenets.” Multiplayer will also return, “more varied and ruthless than ever.”<\/p>\n
