Disney and Sega together have released a teaser trailer hinting at the summer launch of a mystery game. Visible clues all point to one obvious possibility: Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse.

The trailer shows a spooky castle ominously lit by a full moon (similar to the original Sega Genesis box art), a marching troop of toy soldiers, a behind-the-back glimpse at an evil queen who looks a lot like Mizrabel, and a tumbling apple. The dead giveaway is the “1990, 2013 Disney” copyright at the bottom-right corner at the trailer’s end. Guess when Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse first came out? Yep, the year was 1990.

Unless Disney and Sega have some other trick up their sleeves, the only thing left to determine now is whether or not this will be a straight up re-release or a full HD revival like Capcom’s DuckTales Remastered, also releasing this summer. I’m sure fans will be happy either way.
