Free content ahoy! 2K Games has released a game update and free downloadable add-on pack for both the PC and Xbox 360 versions of BioShock<\/em> today. As part of the update, the widely complained about widescreen cropping issue has been addressed, giving visitors to Rapture an even wider view of the dark underwater world. Other gameplay and interface upgrades have been made as well, but the widescreen option is clearly the standout.<\/p>\n

As for the add-on pack, it comes with a set of four new Plasmids and Gene Tonics and one new Achievement exclusive to the 360, all described below.<\/p>\n

Four Plasmids and Gene Tonics:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Sonic Boom: Hurls creatures and objects back with a blast of force.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 EVE saver: Enables Plasmids to use less EVE.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Vending Expert: Reduces prices in the vending machines.<\/p>\n

\u00b7 Machine Buster: Increases the amount of damage players deal to cameras, bots and turrets.<\/p>\n

Achievements (exclusive to Xbox 360):<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Xbox 360 players can gain 100 points for \u201cBrass Balls,\u201d by beating BioShock on the \u201chard\u201d difficulty setting without dying.<\/p>\n

For Xbox 360 owners, the game update automatically starts upon booting up the game, while the 20MB Plasmid pack can be found on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
