Here I was, rushing to catch up on the original The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing<\/em> from last year to be ready for its sequel, the aptly titled The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II<\/em>, launching on April 17th. Only it turns out that, as of today, NeocoreGames has decided to push the sequel’s release back by a little more than a month. Doh!<\/p>\n

As usual, the delay is all about extra time for polish–and maybe just a little about moving the game further out from the looming shadow of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls<\/em>. Here is how NeocoreGames announced the news:<\/p>\n

So, what happened to the April release date of The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II? Well, we could blame the supernatural or the bad Vrikolak meat in the fridge, but the truth is, we want to release a superb game as polished as possible on release and that will take a little longer than we thought. We want to make sure the sequel is superior to the first game in every aspect and it keeps you nailed to your chairs all the way to the end with its engaging new story. Now the new date will also mark the anniversary of the first game\u2019s release. So be ready to hunt down the new swarm of monstrosities when the game hits Steam on May 22, 2014.<\/p>\n

I’m all for it. The first game is a blast, but it also is a bit buggy, so I’d rather the developers take their time to make sure the sequel launches with greater care and attention to detail. This gives more time to pre-order and get involved with the beta<\/a> as well. I’m sure Neocore will welcome the additional feedback.<\/p>\n
