Guess what? As should have probably been expected, the pre-order process for the Limited Edition “Gun Metal Gray” Metal Gear Solid 4<\/em> PS3 bundle has turned into a complete mess. According to Kotaku, pre-ordering consumers are reporting that 503 errors are keeping them from being able to check out with their order. Even worse than that, apparently Konami deviously tacks on some insane $500 insurance charge on top of the $600 price of the bundle. So in order to pre-order you actually have to pony up over a thousand bucks. That’s fucking ridiculous! Not to mention extremely deceitful on Konami’s part for not providing any notice of this charge beforehand. Supposedly the insurance fee is refundable, but still.<\/p>\n

As of a few minutes ago, this is the message I received after clicking the pre-order button on the bundle product page<\/a>:<\/p>\n
