One of my favorite games of 2014, Cloudbuilt is getting a super-enhanced remake this summer on PC and, for the first time on consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Yes, like many games were titled in the SNES era, this new version is simply called Super Cloudbuilt.

Fresh off the news of its partnership with Wizard Fu to publish Songbringer, Double Elven has joined forces with developer Coilworks to help bring Super Cloudbuilt to a broader audience. An audience the game desperately deserves by the way, as the original Cloudbuilt, though challenging to get into and even more challenging to master, is a brilliant slice of parkour speedrun action–I like to describe it as Mega Man meets Mirror’s Edge–that needs to be played by more people.

Super Cloudbuilt integrates all previously released DLC levels into the base game while also adding enhanced visuals and music, an updated UI, and re-optimized gameplay offering greater depth and variety, as well as a more intuitive learning curve for newcomers. For more info on what’s new about Super Cloudbuilt compared to its predecessor, Coilworks has posted a subreddit with extra detail about some of the upgrades. The game’s Steam page is also live for early wishlisters to peruse.

Owners of the original game will get a “special deal” of some sort on Super Cloudbuilt, but specifics have not yet been announced. There’s plenty of time between now and summer to sort those things out. Speaking of deals, the existing Cloudbuilt is currently on sale at a 75% discount.
