Veteran video game composers Inon Zur and Stuart Chatwood, two artists who have been creating the music for the Prince of Persia<\/em> series for years now, have to no surprise been brought back to tag-team compose the soundtrack for the new Prince of Persia<\/a> coming to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 December 2nd (Chatwood is also working on the Fallen King<\/em> DS offshoot due out the same day). Together the two have crafted a “compelling and epic original score” with “eastern ethnic instrumentation blended with a cinematic orchestral approach, combined with a different musical treatment for each of the game’s four lands.” <\/p>\n

As the lead composer, Inon Zur worked with the Northwest Sinfonia to record the game’s majestic main theme, while Chatwood backed Zur up by recording world music layered with a wide range of unique worldly instruments that perfectly capture cultural Persian sounds and themes.<\/p>\n

“Inon’s music underlines sumptuously the dramatic and the cinematic qualities of the story,\u201d said Simon Landry, Music Supervisor for Prince of Persia. “Bringing together, in a video game perspective, tragedy, humor, violent confrontations, romance and moral dilemmas is a huge challenge but the new Prince of Persia soundtrack makes it happen, reaching new artistic heights and emotional depth.\u201d<\/p>\n
