Of all the classic NES games deserving of reboots, I would’ve never even thought of A Boy and His Blob<\/em> as a candidate, but now that it has been announced I couldn’t be any more ecstatic.<\/p>\n

Majesco and WayForward at the helm, A Boy and His Blob<\/em> is being remade and reimagined for the Wii in celebration of the original NES title’s 20th anniversary this year. Sporting beautiful graphics powered by “groundbreaking hand drawn and painted animation technology,” A Boy and His Blob<\/em> is a platform adventure game starring a boy and a shape-shifting blob he teams up with to take on an evil emperor ruling the kingdom of Blobolonia. <\/p>\n

Through 40 challenging levels, you’ll have to solve puzzles and defeat enemies by feeding the blob magic jellybeans that enable it to morph into various objects, such as a parachute, ladder, balloon, trampoline, or cannon. Majesco is also promising unlockable bonus content honoring the game’s 20th anniversary, which I hope means we’ll see the original NES game hidden on the disc somewhere. That’d sure be a perfect bonus item.<\/p>\n
