Rockstar is poised for yet another big year in 2009. GTA IV<\/em><\/a> expansion The Lost and Damned<\/em> and GTA<\/em> DS debut Chinatown Wars<\/em><\/a> have already been successfully launched, with Red Dead Redemption<\/em><\/a> and, as announced today, Max Payne 3<\/em><\/a> due out late this year. <\/p>\n

Max Payne’s third film noir-style crime drama is currently in development for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 at Rockstar Vancouver, and is scheduled to ship for all three platforms this winter. Don’t expect huge changes on the gameplay front in Max Payne 3<\/em>, as Rockstar states it will feature “more of the classic elements and hyper-intense action that fans have come to love.” However, as Max hits rock bottom, the storyline is set to move in a new direction, as Rockstar explains:<\/p>\n

“We’re starting a new chapter of Max’s life with this game,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “This is Max as we’ve never seen him before, a few years older, more world-weary and cynical than ever.
