Nintendo joyously launched its new DSi handheld this morning. Vince Jimenez of California was the first in line to purchase the DSi at the midnight launch event in LA, as you can see him triumphantly hoisting his purchase over his head in the picture above. What about you? Did you rush out to buy a DSi yet? If so, how was the launch experience? Are you digging your new DSi so far?<\/p>\n

Me? I’m honestly not too interested in purchasing one for the time being. For me losing the GBA slot is a big deal, and the added features (camera, SD card slot, voice recorder\/music player, etc.) aren’t a worthwhile enough trade off. The DSi Shop will ultimately be the deal breaker though. The DSiWare launch titles look like nothing more than gimmicky tech demos like a lot of the original DS launch titles were years ago, but if Nintendo and other developers start filling the shop with quality original games I’ll eventually pick one up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
