Digitally released two weeks ago, PC dungeon-crawl RPG Torchlight<\/em><\/a> is also now set to get a proper physical release at brick and mortar retailers, courtesy of Encore Software. The retail version is scheduled to ship on January 5th and will retail at the same $19.99 MSRP as the digital download version (actually, until November 15th you can get the download version for only $17.99 here<\/a>). Additionally, Encore and Runic Games are also prepping a Mac version for a 2010 release at a currently undisclosed time following the retail PC launch.<\/p>\n

For those who haven’t heard about the game — I’m embarrassed to admit I’d never heard of it until a few weeks ago when Mike expressed interest in reviewing it — Torchlight<\/em> is the latest action-RPG from the masterminds behind Diablo<\/em>, Diablo II<\/em>, Fate<\/em>, Mythos<\/em> (which sadly never got a full release) and the solid but too ambitious for its own good Hellgate: London<\/em>. The pedigree of the game’s developers is enough to get me excited — I am a sucker for an action-RPG after all. <\/p>\n
