Amidst all the brouhaha between Activision and Infinity Ward — which I couldn’t care any less about by the way, if you couldn’t already tell from my complete lack of coverage on the subject — the next Call of Duty<\/em> has been announced.<\/p>\n

Treyarch is back at the helm of the next Call of Duty<\/em>, subtitled Black Ops<\/em><\/a>, and the game is scheduled for retail deployment on November 9th. And, well..that’s about it on official details. Platforms haven’t been confirmed yet — but you can pretty much count on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 — nor has any information about the game’s setting, modes or other features been revealed, although reports of retailer listings stating that the game will consist of off-book Special Forces missions in Cuba, Vietnam, and the Arctic have surfaced.<\/p>\n
