Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker<\/em> is quickly turning into the most hyped game release of 2010 as Konami’s cross-promotional marketing campaign for the PSP exclusive continues to grow. Konami has already come together with Sony to put together two console bundles — the Big Boss Pack<\/a> and the Entertainment Pack<\/a> — and now deals have been announced that will see the releases of a Peace Walker<\/em>-themed Walkman and t-shirt collection.<\/p>\n

Beginning next month, Sony’s new Walkman W-Series portable MP3 player will be available in a limited edition Peace Walker<\/em> model. Equipped with 2 GB of storage space, 11 hours of battery life, and Content Transfer software allowing easy file transfer from your PC or iTunes library, the camouflage Peace Walker<\/em> Walkman will come with six songs from the game’s soundtrack pre-installed and a coupon code granting access to exclusive in-game Walkman apparel and character skins. <\/p>\n

It’ll be available at Sony Style<\/a> in June for $60. Sony Style is also offering a bundle deal<\/a> including the Peace Walker<\/em> Entertainment Pack and the Walkman, along with a PSP traveler case and UMD case, all for only $229.97. The Walkman by itself is currently back-ordered, but pre-orders are still available for the bundle.<\/p>\n

In addition to the Walkman, Konami has also partnered up with Japanese clothing retailer UNIQLO<\/a> to produce a limited edition line of Peace Walker<\/em> t-shirts. The collection, which is scheduled to go on sale online and at UNIQLO USA stores on June 11, will include 10 different designs inspired by themes from the game, and, you guessed it, a code will also be provided with each shirt to unlock an exclusive solider and an in-game recreation of the purchased shirt. Pricing was not provided in the press release.<\/p>\n

Hideo Kojima will be on hand to celebrate the launch and sign autographs at the UNIQLO USA\u2019s Global Flagship store in New York City on June 11 between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM, and prizes such as Entertainment Pack bundles, art books, and coversheets will also be given away at the launch party.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
