Sony sure seems to be blowing its load ahead of E3. LittleBigPlanet 2, Killzone 3 and God of War: Ghost of Sparta have already been announced within the past month, and now today we get confirmation of inFamous 2, the sequel to Sucker Punch’s flawed-but-fun open-world superhero game. I’d prefer a new Sly Cooper game, but I enjoyed inFamous so I’m on board for a sequel.

Details will be revealed in the next issue of Game Informer magazine and at E3 of course, but the cover of the new GI actually reveals a lot on its own. For some reason, Sucker Punch completely redesigned Cole MacGrath’s look, which I worry may break the connection to the first game for me. A lot of people seemed to have a problem with Cole as a character in the original, but I thought he looked the part just fine. This new Cole strikes me as the generic “dark & gritty” type.
