Mortal Kombat<\/em> is taking a stab at another comeback, going the way of Capcom and Street Fight IV<\/em> by returning to its classical 2D gameplay roots (the characters and everything are modeled in 3D). After the violence was toned down for Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe<\/em>, gore will also be coming back in a big way, with Warner Bros. and series co-creator Ed Boon (his new team at NetherRealm Studios is developing the game) promising “the most gruesome fatalities ever.” Other features include the “deepest story mode of any fighting game,” an extensive roster of iconic MK<\/em> fighters, and online support for a new 2-player Co-op Arcade Mode, 4-player online tag-team matches, and traditional 1 vs. 1 matches.<\/p>\n
